Monday fast story:

A moneylender was very rich, he had no shortage of money, etc. but he used to be very sad because of not having a son, and in this worry, he used to fast and worship Lord Shiva day and night with great devotion. One day Parvati ji said to Shivji that Maharaj, this moneylender is your exclusive devotee, so if he has any kind of sorrow then you should end it, otherwise, why would a man fast and worship you? Seeing such a request from Parvati ji, Shiv ji said, Parvati, this world is a field of work, as the person sows the seed, so does the harvest.

even if there is no son in the fortune of this moneylender, I give him the boon of having a son, but that child only Will live till the age of 12 years. I cannot do anything more for this. The moneylender was listening to all these things, because of which he was neither sad nor happy. As before, he kept fasting and worshipping Lord Shiva with full devotion. In the 9th month, a very beautiful child was born in the moneylender’s house, but she did not express much happiness knowing that the child age existed only 12 years.

When the boy turned 9 years old, his mother asked his father for the boy’s marriage., But the moneylender said, it’s not the right time for his marriage, instead I will send him to Kashiji to study. The moneylender invited the boy’s maternal uncle and said, take my son to Kashiji to study and wherever you stop on the way to feed and donate to Brahmins. Both maternal uncle and nephew were performing Yagya on the way and feeding food to Brahmins.

Then on the way, they found a city, the daughter of the king of that city was getting married and the boy who brought the procession was blind with one eye. When the boy’s father saw the very handsome Seth’s son, he thought why not take the job of the groom from this boy? Thinking like this, he asked the boy’s maternal uncle, and they agreed and the marriage went well. But when the boy started leaving, he had written on the princess’s wrist that he is not your husband, he is a man with one eye, you are married to me and I am going to Kashi.

When the girl found this written on her wrist, she refused to go and the procession went back. On the other side, Seth’s son had turned 12 years old. One day the boy told his maternal uncle that I am not feeling well today, so his maternal uncle asked him to go inside and take a rest, the boy went inside and fell asleep and died in a short while. When his maternal uncle found the boy dead, he felt very sad. he started crying when Shiv ji and Parvati ji were passing by there,

Parvati ji urged Shiv ji to bring him there and saw that this was the same Seth’s son who was born with the blessings of Shiv ji. Parvati ji urged Shivaji Maharaj to bring that boy alive, otherwise, his parents would die in agony. Shiv ji gave life to the boy. The boy and his maternal uncle started moving towards the house. On the way, they found the same city where Seth’s son had gotten married. The boy’s father-in-law recognized him and with great respect sent off his daughter and son-in-law by giving him a lot of money.

On the other side, Seth and his wife were sitting with a vow that if our son comes back home safely then it is good, otherwise, we will sacrifice our lives by jumping from the roof. When he saw his son and his son’s wife coming with a lot of money. They became very happy and started living their life safely, in this way whoever fasts on Mondays in this world and recites Shiva Purana, all his sorrows go away and finally attains Sadashiv Lok.
